John D. Womack was born in Rome, GA in 1957. He was just 9 months old when he was uprooted and moved to Miami, Florida, where he stayed most of his life. He proudly considers himself a Florida native.
Womack is a graduate of Hialeah High School. There he was encouraged by his favorite teacher to pursue a career in Government and law. He got his first taste of the law then through a ACourt Observer Program.@ He later became a Detective intern at a South Florida Detective Bureau under the Direction of a retired Coast Guard Officer, where he learned skip tracing, surveillance, field investigation, and automotive repossession. Within a few years, he became the lead repossession agent for a Miami Detective Agency, Barnes Detective Agency, with main offices in New York.
Yearning for more of a challenge, Womack began working as an in-house investigator for an Insurance Defense law firm in Coral Gables, Florida, Lanza, Sevier, Womack & O=Conner, P.A. His brother, Victor H. Womack, a highly respected Civil Trial Lawyer in South Florida, was a senior partner there.
By 1984 Womack opened his own Detective Agency in Coral Gables, FL and offered services to the public and attorneys alike. Services included: accident/incident investigation, personal injury/medical malpractice evaluation, criminal defense, domestic surveillance, process service, records and document research, background investigation, asset recovery and skip tracing.
As he became more interested in Criminal Cases and the demand for his services increased, he moved his office near the Miami-Dade Criminal Justice Building. His services included an array of felony cases, e.g., grand theft, sexual assaults, home invasions, murder, etc., including capital cases.
In 1999, he accepted the challenge of Office Administrator and In-House Investigator for one law firm, and again by some coincidence, his brother was again a Senior Partner.
Over the years, Womack has sought to improve his credibility and expertise in his field. He attended college for a few years, but as a single parent of two, he could not find the time to complete his degree. He did, however, attain the prestigious title, Certified, Florida Bar Registered Paralegal. He has been a devoted attendee at continuing education courses and seminars in his field, as well as being called upon as a presenter on several occasions. He has appeared as a guest speaker both in person and on the radio discussing his profession.
The above training, experience and education allowed Womack to attain the essential knowledge and credibility in those fields in which his investigative services are needed. In his entire career he has been either the director of his own investigation agency, or administrator of a Civil Litigation law firm. When serving as a law firm administrator he also wore the hats of an In-House Investigator, Paralegal, IT Manager, Legal Software Specialist and Bookkeeper. His civil litigation experience over the years has been heavily weighted in medical malpractice defense, and lately, plaintiff work. He now finds himself in a new location in Fort Pierce, Florida, longing for the excitement of new challenges in his profession and looks forward to providing excellent service to his clients.
